Sibos Conference

Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

Delivering Seamless AV and IT Infrastructure for a Global Finance Conference

The Challenge

Microhire was engaged by SWIFT to provide full AV and IT infrastructure for the Sibos Conference, one of the world’s leading financial services events.

Held across six levels of the Hong Kong Convention Centre, the project involved complex telecommunications, large-scale exhibitor support, and coordination across multiple time zones, languages, and client expectations. The brief required uninterrupted connectivity, secure telecommunication systems, and precise technical delivery for major clients, including SWIFT and JP Morgan.

The Solution

Microhire delivered a comprehensive solution across all event levels, including:

Telecommunications and Networking
- Designed and installed infrastructure for 2,000 open internet connections, 400 LANs, and 250 wireless hotspots
- Implemented a centre-wide PABX telephone system for international calls and fax services
- Designed and managed SWIFT’s VLAN network to integrate seamlessly with the venue’s existing infrastructure
Exhibitor Technical Support
- Installed and managed 270 custom-built international exhibition stands
- Provided LCD HD monitors, sound systems, networked internet and LED lighting across all displays
- Coordinated with exhibitors across multiple time zones and languages to meet tailored requirements
Conference and Client Facilities
- Managed all teleconferencing and conference technology for key clients, including SWIFT and JP Morgan
- Delivered technical production support across six levels of the convention centre
Logistics and Crew Management
- Supplied 12 shipping containers of AV and IT equipment
- Deployed a 75-person crew from Australia and Hong Kong to manage setup, operation, and pack-down
