ADB’s Landmark Congress in Fiji

DICC, The Sheraton and The Westin (Fiji)

Powering a Global Congress on Fijian Soil

The Challenge

The 52nd Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank brought thousands of global leaders, policymakers and media to Denarau, Fiji. Spread across multiple venues, the event was a landmark moment for the Pacific and a major technical undertaking.

Microhire Fiji, supported by Microhire Australia, delivered a large-scale production designed to showcase Fiji as a world-class event destination. The project required seamless AV integration across the DICC, The Sheraton and The Westin, while meeting international standards and deploying technologies new to the region.

The Solution

Microhire delivered full production across the multi-venue event footprint, including:

Large-Scale Visual Infrastructure

Installed a 30m wide x 3.6m high LED video wall, the largest HD screen of its type ever deployed in Fiji
Managed over 7.6 million pixels of active display, supporting high-resolution content and live broadcast feeds

Intelligent Lighting & Rigging

Fitted the DICC with over 90 intelligent moving lights on a custom 6-tonne overhead truss rig
Provided full theatrical and conference lighting design, enhancing plenary sessions, performances, and keynote moments

Integrated Venue Connectivity

Delivered a state-of-the-art fibre backbone linking all three venues for consistent video, audio, and communications
Enabled seamless control and synchronisation across presentation spaces, breakout rooms, and media zones

Technical Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer

Supplied experienced Australian crew while actively upskilling local Fijian production staff
Created a hybrid crew model to support long-term industry development in the region
