Bringing Energy, Colour and Sound to a Christmas Fiesta

Transforming a High-Profile Industry Lunch into a Bold and Immersive Brand Experience

The Challenge

Brisbane Advertising Association’s annual Christmas Lunch is a key event for media and marketing professionals. In 2018, the client aimed to refresh the format with a bold Christmas Fiesta theme and stronger sponsor presence.

Microhire brought the concept to life with vibrant AV, elevated staging, and dynamic lighting to support headline entertainment, including Australia’s top RNB DJ, delivering an experience that felt fresh, energetic, and on brand.

The Solution

Microhire worked closely with the client to deliver a cohesive and creative solution that touched every part of the event environment:

Vision and Sponsorship Integration

Replaced traditional vinyl sponsor banners with custom digital projections
Installed multiple projection screens throughout the space to maximise visibility
Extended visual branding into the pre-drinks area for a fully immersive effect

Intelligent Lighting Design

Designed a beamed tunnel over the central dancefloor using flown moving lights
Used gobos, colour washes, and pattern lighting on side walls and ceiling spaces
Added soft haze to enhance the beam effects and create atmospheric depth

Stage and Performer Reveal

Created a concealed entry point behind a draped backdrop for the DJ’s stage entrance
Backlit the artist with LED strip lights for a striking silhouette reveal
Positioned intelligent lighting across the rear stage wall for maximum audience impact

Audio Coverage and Balance

Delivered full surround sound coverage across the main room and pre-drinks zone
Carefully tuned the system for both high-energy music and sponsor video playback
Ensured even audio distribution so every guest experienced consistent sound
